행사 소개
Photo Studio Off-beat Air Echoes Into Open Unison To mark the 140th Anniversary of Korea-France Diplomatic Relations, six musicians from France and Korea turn their attention to sound as a phenomenon born of encounter and relationship. Sound artist Rémi Klemensiewicz, haegeum player Yeji Kim, viola da more player Olivier Marin, geomungo player Eun-yong Sim, medieval vocalist Christian Ploix, and jeongga singer Yoonyoung Cho — their breath, vocalization, friction, and resonance interweave as jeongga and medieval chant, traditional instruments and soundscape seep into one another, and we surrender to a boundlessness where space itself becomes foreground. Sound becomes melody, harmony, and rhythm through the act of relation, organizing itself into music that carries emotion. Language follows the same logic — vowels meet consonants, phonemes combine into words and sentences. Wind Alone, Sand Alone — Make No Sound unfolds this process of sound's emergence, relation, expansion, dissolution, and return across multiple layers of acoustic space — a Sonic Theatre in which music is treated not as a performed result but as sound that lives within relationship. The noise of ventilation units and lighting rigs, our breath, our voices, our playing — endlessly crossing between foreground and background, appearing and dissolving, until the performance space becomes one living thing. Scenes 0. Sounds That Were Always There When you enter the hall, there are sounds always already there. The hum of the air conditioning, the rustle of coats as the audience finds their seats, the soft white noise drifting from the speakers. Always, the hall is breathing. 1. The First Voice A singing body stirs. Like a child hearing its mother's voice from within the womb — sound that is not yet distinct, yet its energy, pitch, inflection, and feeling can be sensed. Soon another voice, then another instrument, weave together and overlap in the space as medieval chant once did. Voices and resonances born o 주최: 세종문화회관
