SPO Chamber Series II

행사 소개

James Ehnes' violin performance will resonate more vividly and closely in the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra's Chamber Series II, at the 400-seat Sejong Chamber Hall. Ravel’s Sonatine, the essential spirit of modern pianism which conveys the subtlety and exquisiteness characteristic of Ravel, will be presented in a flute and string quartet arrangements with brilliant colors. Ehnes, the master of French Impressionist chamber music, will play Debussy's only string quartet, which influenced numerous musicians including Ryuichi Sakamoto, with members of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Finally, the Series II comes to an end with the piece of Brahms' string sextet No. 1. The work gives the audience a glimpse into influences of Vienna classicism that have upon Beethoven and Schubert, under the aura of Vienna with rich acoustical colors throughout the whole piece. Especially, the second movement variation, famous by the nickname "Brahms Tears" is a dreamy sublimation of passion for love and sorrow for unfulfilled love. Programs and performers may be subject to change. 주최: 세종문화회관
