2022 TRIO BAAS Concert

Trio BAAS is a concert group consisting of violinist Nam Seung-hyeok, cellist Shin A-yeon, and pianist Park Su-jeong. Right after its organization in June 2020, the group was selected as the young artists for the Paris Music Forum of the Osaka International Music Competition in August of the same year and performed its foundation concert with great success. Trio BAAS has since continued to prove its musical skills on both domestic and overseas stages by winning prizes in the Korea International Music Concours, causing a new sensation in domestic classical music circles with its unique colors and personalities. The group will continue its progress on various stages such as the PROMNADE Invitational Concert at the Seongnam Arts Center. To match the goal of their foundation — ‘ As young players of the contemporary time, we won ’ t only just keep pursuing the value of classical music but also communicate with the public ’ — , which they set during undergraduate and graduate programs at the Korean National University of Arts, Trio BAAS tries to present chamber music, which is rarely enjoyed in Korea, with easy explanations and experimental and popular and friendly performances, finding the contact points between classical and contemporary music through collaborations with contemporary composers. As the name 'Trio BAAS', derived from the German word 'BAS' (meaning solid bass and firm orientation), implies, the group, based on its intrinsic expertise in classical music, will continue to grow as a multi-faceted culture and art group, embracing many situations and collaborating across several art domains such as classical, jazz, film music, experimental contemporary music, art, and dance.
