SJF at the theater – Yerin Baek X Seokcheol Yun

행사 소개

Singer-songwriter Yerin Baek and jazz pianist Seokcheol Yun will share the stage on Saturday, November 21, at SJF at the Theater. SJF at the Theater is a new concert series launched this year, extending the Seoul Jazz Festival (SJF), held every spring, into the fall season. The venue holds special meaning: the Sejong Grand Theater at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts hosted the festival from its first edition in 2007 through its fifth in 2011. Joining Yerin Baek and Seokcheol Yun on this year’s lineup are Kings of Convenience, Christopher, and Diana Krall, offering a diverse program that spans folk, pop, and jazz. Since making her solo debut in 2015 with her first EP, FRANK, Yerin Baek has grown into an artist who captivates both the general public and dedicated listeners, with releases including the single Bye bye my blue (2016) and the EP Our love is great (2019). Her first full-length album, Every letter I sent you. (2019), drew wide attention with the tracks “Square (2017),” “0310,” and “Popo (How deep is our love?).” “Square (2017)” became the first Korean song with all-English lyrics to reach No. 1 on Korea’s real-time charts, and she won Best Pop Album at the Korean Music Awards two years in a row. She has since shown many sides of her artistry with her second album, tellusboutyourself (2020), the cover EP Love, Yerin (2021), and her third album, Flash and Core (2025). She also remains active as the frontperson of the band The Volunteers. Pianist and producer Seokcheol Yun is one of Korea’s leading jazz musicians, with a wide-ranging musical world rooted in jazz that extends to pop, hip-hop, electronic music, and ballads. Since forming the [Yun Seok Cheol Trio] in 2009, he has stood out not only through his solo and trio work but also through collaborations with artists across genres, including Zion.T, [Jinah Kwon], Sam Kim, and DAY6’s Wonpil. The trio has steadily expanded its international presence since its first concert in Japan in 2024, with an o 주최: 세종문화회관
