Composers in the Baroque period thought that music can elicit certain emotions of the audience. If such emotions as sadness, anger, joy, love, and hope are conveyed through rhetorical expressions and repetitive melodies and rhythms of music, and these can also have an influence upon our body fluids and pulsation, we expect that the Baroque music will be especially felt closer to modern people, who have suffered from a sense of loss through the pandemic.
