The Seoul Metropolitan Opera(SMO) is making opera productions for Seoul citizens, catering to the social changes where citizens are put on the highest priority. In 2022, the SMO lowered the threshold of opera through various innovative attempts in collaboration with both established and promising singers and achieved a complete sold-out in all performances. In 2023, the SMO, with the theme of happiness, made a great success in Mozart’s “Magic Flute” and has plans to stage an outdoor opera production “Carmen” by Bizet as well as “Turandot” by Puccini and an opera gala concert later this year. The SMO will continue to strive to produce classical opera added with a creative touch ensuring artistic quality and popularity and give Seoul citizens opportunities to enjoy arts and culture for unity and healing, through which will ultimately lead the SMO to strengthening its position in the world. 주최: 세종문화회관
