Leopold Auer Johanes Brahms Variations on a Theme of Paganini Op.35 : Book II The word 'nocturne' means night, and 'virtuoso' means excellence. They both originate from Latin words 'nox' and 'virtuoso' respectively. The music of night, nocturne, has started from an Irish musician Field, and has bloomed when it was passed on to a Romantic musician Chopin. It was a captivating genre that also enabled a French musician Faure to show his musical capacity. During the 20th century, Barber has dedicated his nocturne to the founder of nocturne, Field, in order to look back on the root of the music. The nocturnes that will be performed during part 1, are the music that speak of the dark rather than light, sensitivity rather than rationality, instability rather than balance, and the world of dream rather than that of the reality. 주최: 세종문화회관
