The truth is that no matter how wise you become, you can't change the world on your own. Since its premiere in 2017, the play, The Cloven Viscount, which has constantly fascinated the audience, is coming back! Viscount Medardo, a young man split in half into good and evil hit by an enemy shell on the battlefield, an imperfect human being seen through Medardo, confronting with good and evil in himself, representing the image of a modern man who becomes an enemy to his own nature. Il Visconte Dimezzato (The Cloven Viscount) of Italo Calvino, the master of Italian fantasy novels, meets Park Seong-chan who twists the paradox of life into the world of fairy tales, enters this realm anew as the most shabby Marchen fantasy in the world. A tragic and barbaric fairy tale portrayed through movements and objects. The doll objects designed and produced by director Park Seong-chan are added up to the stereoscopic movements of the actors who make the best of atmosphere of the traveling theater, further enhancing the unique fantastic nature of the work. The story of the intact and the nonintact. Actors on a dark stage begin to talk. In the stories of the actors who look clumsy and shabby, Viscount Medardo, a young man, appeared. Viscount Medardo in young adulthood, when vague emotion mixed between good and evil, resulted in confusion. Viscount Medardo, out of curiosity, pompously went to the battlefield against the Pagans, and his body got split in half by an enemy shell. Medardo survived is only a half split - only the right side left. Medardo returns to his estate with only his "absolute evil" left, and those who rolled out the welcome mat for him suffer confusion and pain. Intact humans live under the rule of the nonintact half, and by the time they becomes accustomed to this life, the other half of Medardo which they thought was dead, who embodies only "absolute good", shows up in the estate. 주최: 세종문화회관
