행사 소개

Atelier Gwanghwa, located in Gwanghwamun Square, the center of Korea's history and culture, is an urban media façade platform that transforms the exterior wall of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts into an immense canvas of light. The name Atelier Gwanghwa brings together atelier , the French word for an artist's workspace, and Gwanghwa ( 光化 ), the name of a place that has long stood at the center of history and culture. True to its name, Atelier Gwanghwa is an open cultural space where art, technology, and the everyday lives of the city's residents meet, and it presents new possibilities for Gwanghwamun Square. Through an art of light that makes use of the Sejong Center's exterior wall, it also expands a familiar urban landscape into a space of new sensation, seeking to offer the city's residents an extraordinary artistic experience within everyday life. Infusing Light Infusing Light , the third exhibition of Atelier Gwanghwa in 2026, translates into light the time and the senses that have settled layer upon layer at Gwanghwamun, drawing the inner life of the individual and its relationship with the city into a single continuum. HAN SeungKu explores the self as it hides and reveals itself within relationships. Ilinx o pens a space of meditation in the middle of the city and proposes a time of healing in which the traces of daily life are emptied out. MirrorMask: The Self Beyond the Boundary reveals the possibility of a new existence through the collision and integration of the social mask and the fundamental self. HONG NaKyum looks at the city as a single living network of relations, through invisible currents of light and through movement that repeats. Beneath Gwanghwamun: The Invisible Network of Relations captures the movement of people passing through the underground of Gwanghwamun and visualizes the city's unseen structures of connection.
