행사 소개

Bury , unbury, bury again - and finally, a breath Known as a "living flame" for the explosive presence she carries onto the stage, choreographer Kim Hye-kyoung returns with her first new work in seven years. Myo Myo : Cat Tomb begins with a childhood memory. As a young girl, Kim desperately tried to save a dead cat by stitching up its wounds. Before she could accept death, her body moved first. That instinctive gesture became a form of mourning no one had ever taught her—a movement born from the will to keep something alive. The memory still lives within her choreography today . In this work, the "tomb" is more than a place where the dead are buried. It is also the space we create whenever we part with someone, let go of an object we have cherished, or watch precious memories begin to fade. For Kim, death is one of the many endings we encounter throughout life, and the tomb becomes a bodily state that carries those endings forward. As we bury, uncover, and bury again, memories do not disappear—they remain within the body . The work also enters into dialogue with Ahn Eun-me's Tomb Series from the 1990s, reimagining it through the bodies of contemporary women dancers before arriving at Cat Tomb , where death ultimately gives way to life. Three dancers unfold their own memories, emotions, and physical languages, revealing bodies that continue to live beyond every ending . What disappears is never completely gone. Memory remains within us, and the body continues to breathe while carrying it forward . 주최: 세종문화회관
