Pianist Moon Chae-kyung Recital

Pianist Moon Chae-kyung graduated from Seoul Arts High School and the Department of Instrumental Music of Yonsei University’s College of Music with top honors in piano performance. She then completed the courses for a Performer Diploma and a Master of Music degrees at Indiana University at Bloomington followed by obtaining a Doctor of Musical Arts(DMA) degree at University of Texas at Austin. While studying in Korea, Moon distinguished herself by winning the Grand Prize at the Kyunghyang Music Competition as well as the first prizes in a number of local competitions such as Gyeongnam Music Competition, the Music of Korea Association Competition in piano duo category, and the Suwon Women’s University Competition, which entitled her benefits such as a winner’s concert, prize money or a brand-new piano. And her consistent scholarly passion was acknowledged by the Outstanding Doctor of Musical Arts Awards in the solo recital and the lecture recital categories that she earned for two consecutive years when studying at the University of Texas. Moon had acquired numerous performing experiences at so many different venues including Dillingham Hall, Orvis Auditorium, the Honolulu Japanese Cultural Center, Auer Hall, Ford-Crawford Hall, Bastes Recital Hall, Jessen Auditorium, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Honolulu, Kumho Art Hall, Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and Miryang Arts Center before she returned to Korea. Since the first recital at the Kumho Art Hall in 2021 upon her return, she has been regularly giving solo and chamber music concerts and also invited to “Spring of Miryang” in 2022 and 2023 to give a concerto performance with the Western Symphony Orchestra as well as a solo recital. 주최: 세종문화회관
