Seoul Dance Company's New Showcase, ‘Wonderful Dance Pharmacy’

<Wonderful Dance Pharmacy> is a showcase of <Keith>, a regular performance by the Seoul Dance Company to be performed in the second half of 2022. We’ve established a system of pre-production focusing on 'Gut (Exorcism)', 'Jigenori (A-Frame Play)', 'Laundry Dance', and 'Sangnyeonori (Bier Play)', among the short pieces to be presented in <Keith>, and produced it as a performance that is independent in terms of form rather than showing simple choreography to reach the audience. Performance Choreography: Han Su-moon Scene 1 Making Medicine. A young Man-shin in a Gyeonggi Dodanggut (tutelary deity) shaman’s uniform looks down at the world with exhaustion. Young Man-shin finds wounded and sick people and feels sorry for them, but as if he has made up his mind to do something, he opens the fan himself and shakes the bell. Choreography: Kim Jin-won Scene 2 To You Who Work. A bearer girl is sighing while looking at an A-frame loaded with luggage like a mountain. She barely pulls out the A-frame stick, ties the shoulder straps, and gets up, but she misses the stick! The missed stick flies away... Just then, a crane with a medicine bottle around its neck flies in with its mysterious flapping wings. Choreography: Jun Jinhee. Scene 3 To You Who Hesitate. A washing site on a sunny day. Women in bright clothes with laundry baskets on their heads like flowers, appear, taking steps as if they were coming out of a ballroom to perform a waltz. A scholar wearing a kat (traditional Korean top hat) also appears solemnly with a laundry basket beside him instead of a book and takes a seat next to a woman. The scholar looks at the woman with interest, and the woman also glances at him, seemingly interested in the scholar... Choreography: Kim Seong-hoon Scene 4 Even to You Going to the Other World. The banks of the Hwangcheon River to the other world.
