The Turing Machine

행사 소개

Alan Turing, the genius who ushered in the age of AI. Who, then, is a thinking being? A codebreaker who saved an estimated 14 million lives , and a pioneering mind who laid the foundations of modern computer science and artificial intelligence. On today’s stage, we confront the question he left behind for the world. Winner of four major categories at the Molière Awards , the highest honor in French theatre. After its Korean premiere in 2023, 〈The Turing Machine〉 returns in 2026—two years later—for its revival. One of the most talked-about plays in France, The Turing Machine received enthusiastic acclaim from both audiences and critics for its intense performances and profound narrative at its Korean premiere in 2023. In 2026, it returns to Sejong Center’s S Theater with a stage deeper and more powerful than ever. An immersive thrust stage that heightens concentration. On a four-sided stage facing the audience from every direction, two actors embody multiple characters, layering moments where language and emotion, mathematics and philosophy, intersect with striking intensity. From the closest possible distance, the audience encounters Turing’s solitude and inner world. The result is an uncompromising theatrical experience— a synergy of performance and direction that never allows tension to fade, even for a moment. His language was code. Our response was silence. 주최: 세종문화회관
