Betrayal, ambition and chess Masterpiece which shook every corner of the world including Broadway and West End! In June 2015, finally it lands on Korea, its historic premier in Korea Musical Chess dealing with betrayal, ambition and fatal love between characters surrounding chess championship lands on the country for the first time in Asia 30 years after it had its premier in West End in 1986. In the Cold War era when the ideological confrontation between the US and the Soviet Union is fierce, Bangkok where the chess world championship is held is getting attention from the world. The American champion Freddy and Russian counterpart Anatoly conduct psychological warfare amid the world's attention around them. The chess match between the USA and the Soviet Union called fight of the century. Due to the excessive media coverage, the conflict between the two players is getting extorted emotionally. While Freddy's assist Florence is getting tired due to his freewheeling attitude, she comes to feel sympathy and love for Anatoly. Anatoly who couldn't have his way under the Russian social system recognizes a longing for freedom and at the same time comes to love her. As a result, he decides to flee to the USA and takes an airplane with Florence.. Eight weeks later Anatoly, Freddy and Florence meet again in Budapest, Hungary where the world championship will be held.
