Organizer Seoul Metropolitan Opera would like to invite you to Pier Luigi Pizzi’s opera Tosca this year. We would like to invite music lovers to the magic world of Pier Luigi Pizziwho is cited as one of the greatest opera directors. Puccini created the opera after watching Victorian Sardou(1831~1908)’s play titled Tosca in which Sara Bernard, a famous Milan actress, starred in 1890. At that time, he was composing La Boem, and it was made between La Boem and Madam Butterfly. The music was influenced by realism and well demonstrates Puccini’s unique dramatic style based on tragic themes and beautiful melodies. Opera Tosca is very popular because tense tragedy mesmerizes the audiences. It looks like a drama on revolution, but it is only a plot to interest the work. Revolution, friendship, jealousy and conspiracy are expertly intertwined with one another by a skillful artist. 주최: 세종문화회관
