2027 SPO Chamber Classics I: Alban Gerhardt's Beethoven

행사 소개

Discover a Broader, Deeper Beethoven. The 2027 SPO Chamber Classics series is devoted entirely to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven wrote string quartets steadily throughout his career, and the series’ first concert features two of them, one from the middle of his output and one from its very end. The first half opens with String Quartet No. 7, Razumovsky No. 1 . Written with professional players rather than amateurs in mind, this work marked a turning point for the string quartet as a genre. It is followed by String Quartet No. 15, composed some 20 years later in Beethoven’s final years. Its unusually serene musical ideas draw the listener in, while its central movement carries the work’s core message. Cellist Alban Gerhardt and musicians of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra trace this music together with quiet reverence.
