Ensemble the Modern Concert

행사 소개

Ensemble the Modern is a saxophone ensemble consisting of students of classic saxophonist Lee Beom-hoon, who studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Artist Diploma program at Royal Academy of Music in Britain. The Ensemble has been recognized for their outstanding musicality since their highly successful debut concert in 2004 under the name of Modern Saxophone Ensemble and presented a series of free outreach concerts for the underprivileged and the less fortunate at such places as faraway islands, Heyri Village and the Seoul Arts Center’s IBK Chamber Hall. Also, they hold a regular concert series where they unleash the musicality in their fullness as a professional saxophone ensemble. The Ensemble has been expanded into a 10-member group with a new name, ‘Ensemble the Modern,’ for the purpose of advancing classical saxophone music in Korea and performing a wide range of repertoire beyond the boundary of traditional classical saxophone music. Ensemble the Modern pursues the development of saxophone ensemble in Korea by breaking the stereotype about the saxophone instrument and performs a variety of repertoire from baroque, romantic and contemporary pieces with a more refined and sophisticated playing.
